Terrassotec Screw

Fasteners for decking

The choice of steel for screws and bolts according to their resistance plays a crucial role. What type of wood will you be fixing? Is it softwood or exotic? Is it rich in tannins? What is the hardness and density of the wood, and what dimensional changes does it undergo during radial and tangential drying? All this is important when choosing the right steel for screws and bolts for your decking...

FASTENERS FOR WOODEN DECKING AND TERRACES

Choose wood screws or aluminum screws depending on the substructure you are working on. A dista-skirting, decking clamp or our new drilling template will create an expansion joint between the board and the substructure. This is very important when using both coniferous and tropical hardwoods.

The difference in using these systems? Dista-skirting is used for the visible connection of the decking boards. Dista-skirting is screwed directly to the top of the boards. The screw heads are therefore visible. Dista-skirting also acts as a spacer. The decking clamp is used to connect the decking boards invisibly. The decking clamp is attached to the underside of the board and then to the substructure. The boards are connected indirectly. No fasteners are visible on the surface of the deck. The decking handle acts as a connecting and spacing device.

A new addition to our product range, the Drill Tool, is also used to make the connection invisible from above. Screws are evenly inserted at a 50° angle using predetermined fixing points for optimal positioning. The Drill Tool's spacer mandrels automatically ensure a consistent 6 mm spacing between each panel.
