Spruce is important industrial wood originated from middle and northern Europe. It grows majorly and in high density in Europe except Netherlands and Denmark. There are tentatively 30-40 types of spruce out of which 3 grow in Europe naturally. In Czech Republic, it’s just 1.
Northern spruce grows with light age rings. Available in yellowish – white wood to pale yellow brown, solid spruce flooring has fine texture and is straight grained wood. Apart from typical lighter knots, certain woods are also black or black rimmed knots and have pitch deposits.
