The surface of decking pine boards is processed in such way it is mostly denticulate or grooved with occasional occurrence of knags which is characteristic for pine wood. Growth rings in pine – wood for decking is predominant with stripe wood grain. Pine wood for decking is characteristic for its high content of resin and therefore it is very resistant to water and weather conditions. The presence of high content of resin makes pine wood flexible and solid. As all sapwood, pine for decking suffers from turning grey, therefore we recommend selecting a suitable paint finish for this wood from Osmo Color series designed directly for pine wood. Pine wood for decking is also suitable for waterproofing. Pay attention to contact with metals, always use stainless screws for fitting the decking wood, otherwise distinctive stains difficult to remove may occur on wood.

Description of douglasie wood for decking:
Douglasie decking wood is from the family of pine plants. Douglasie wood has white yellowish colour, pinkish, the core is light brown to red brown (darkens outside). The lineation is predominant in longitudinal cross-section. Douglesie wood has wide and predominant growth rings, regular texture. Douglesie wood is one of the best coniferous wood types. It is more solid decking wood in comparison to other conifers. It is recognized for smaller amount of knags. In our region, we have mostly Central European douglesie which is artificially branched to achieve high quality wood. Douglesie wood has only small tendency to breaking and twisting. Without surface treatment, this wood has tendency to gain grey colour in external conditions in time. Pay attention to contact with metals, always use stainless screws for fitting, otherwise distinctive stains difficult to remove may occur on wood.
